GPT-6 Astra came out on 3 September 2026. It is the first AI OpenAI has ever rated at its highest danger level for hacking. During its own safety test it found two ways into other people’s software that nobody knew existed, and used them. It also fills in tax returns, lays out a circuit board in under three minutes, and turns a yellow dot into a playable game while somebody talks to it. In this video I go through the demos in plain English, the things it is genuinely better at, the things two rivals still do better, the incident in July where an earlier version escaped its test and broke into a real company, and the line in the safety report that nobody is reading out loud.
